History



1982 [ Top ]
Start of design work on an innovative compact motor system that uses a brushless inverted rotor configuration with permanent magnets, a generator and advanced power electronic controls that can be embedded inside a regular-size wheel at IREQ.




1991 [ Top ]
Development of the 4-wheel motor system and its control software

1996 [ Top ]

Proof of concept, a vehicle is driven and controlled by the 4-wheel motor system.




1998 [ Top ]
Technologies M4 Inc. (TM4) is formed to complete the propulsion and control system and market the systems.



TM4's first PM generator system (10 kW).




2001  [ Top ]
Second PM generator (40 kW).




2002  [ Top ]
TM4 seels a scale-up of the 40 kW PM generator to 170 kW.



TM4 sells its first propulsion system for a passenger vehicle using a standard central configuration design, integrated control and power electronics.




2003  [ Top ]
TM4 and La Société de Véhicules Électriques (SVE), a subsidiary of Groupe Industriel Marcel Dassault (GIMD), announce that they are actively collaborating to engineer an all-electric vehicle, the
Cleanova I.




2004  [ Top ]
Development and production of the drivetrain system of the Ceanova II, the new electric vehicle of S.V.E., based on a Renault Kangoo platform (EV and HEV versions).



TM4 equips the Peugeot Quarks, an ATV vehicle introduced at the Paris auto show with air-cooled wheel motors.




2005  [ Top ]
Hydro-Québec welcomes Groupe Industriel Marcel Dassault as TM4 shareholder.


TM4 designs and delivers a new parallel hybrid system to a large truck and bus OEM.




2006  [ Top ]
TM4 designs the wheel motor system of the diesiel hybrid Citroën C-Métisse presented at the Paris auto show. [ Press Release ]




2007  [ Top ]
Development of a 660 kW permanent magnet generator for wind turbines.





2008  [ Top ]
Launch of TM4 MΦTIVE™, a versatile all-electric drivetrain system consisting of a high-speed motor and an inverter.



660 kW permanent magnet generator for producing wind energy or other.  Its design can accommodate water or air cooling systems.


2009  [ Top ]
Commercialization of TM4 MΦTIVE™: 110 units delivered to the Miljø and Tata Motors demonstration project in Norway.
